seb wildblood returns to the skint imprint as a follow up to his 2014, barcelona / blue colour ep. shadowed by his label mate apes, this release sees the two take on either side of the 10 inch with a familiar sound echoed by their church imprint. wildblood ignites the record with the bubbly and soothing concocton of noshi that fows seemingly under the vocals of phantasy afliate kelly lee owens. apes sits close on the fip side with a more club friendly ode to london, mortmer road. an eerie night time synth crawls through the suburban sounds of apes we ve been conditoned with since the up-rise of the church sound.

rising label 04 is coming with a very complete ness ep which includes a ben gibson remix. >chronoscope< is the intro track that opens the release, a beautiful landscapes piece where ness shows his love and dexterity for the ambient music. following, >pantropy< is already starting with a heavy kick, far voices layered between the percussions and a sweet melody developing and coming up with that >trancey< touch that ness is able to do. on the b side comes >uchronia<, the track from where the release take the name, a strong broken track with shaped and dynamic percussions where some >chronoscope< landscapes are used flowing as the track goes on. to close the ep ben gibson delivers a classy >uchronia< remix going simple but effective, a perfect balance between gibson style and ness track that totally works out on the floor and makes the prefect closing track for that release.

san francisco/paris-based label spring theory is back with its fourth release. called sweet bitter love, it s a four track ep of manic sample-driven house from keita sano, a japanese producer who s been on a roll lately with releases for like-minded imprints discos capablanca, mister saturday night, and strictly groove recordings. sweet bitter love kicks off with the tripped-out flair of -once i found a diamond.- it s an uplifiting bongo-led cut with dubby melodics that sound like the kind of thing sleeping bag records would have put out in the early 80s. jacques renault provides a leaner peak-time version — complete with hard-hitting snares and growling bass — via his -once i found a diamond (jacques renault trouble funk remix).- things take a turn for the delightfully weird on the ep s namesake -sweet bitter love.- starting like a straightforward house cut, it explodes into a psychedelic collage of spaghetti western guitars, tribal calls, displaced jazz fills, and other forms of cleverly sampled soundtrack exotica. the release wraps up with yet another curveball on -bouzouk.- here sano lays out a subwoofer-knocking ny garage house rhythm that takes a left turn with frenzied bouzouki playing charting arpeggios through a haze of echoing foreign voices. taken as a whole, sweet bitter love is that rare idiosyncratic bomb of an ep that will keep your dancers moving and your trainspotters guessing — in other words, it s spring theory through and through.

mystery man l.f.t. delivers the second ep for woodwork. his poignant debut wood002 includes three original tracks and a remix by benedikt frey. a1 is a dreamy rhodes journey roughened up by distorted 808 sounds. a2 is a melodic house track with a bubbly bassline juxtaposed against crunchy drums. on the flipside, b1 will take you into a laid-back acid house trip fueled by tons of escorial. benedikt frey then twists the track into a trippy techno journey on b2.

2014 was a definitely a huge year for dance music, with many up and coming artists being thrown into the lifestyle of hectic partying and relentless touring schedules. this also means that those who exploded onto the scene prior are no longer the new kids on the block. a few years is a long time in the life of a dj, and the first few years are often the maddest. the adana twins are a perfect example of one of these artists, having emerged onto the scene in 2012 with releases such as everyday and strange , from the off it was clear that they had everybody s undivided attention. (pulse radio) with dj names like take it easy and friso, it s probably to be presumed that german duo adana twins don t take themselves too seriously. that tongue in cheek attitude could be heard on their first productions and remixes. it s now almost almost three years later and the twins music vision is constantly developing

aaaas debut album *shiva watts* sounds both vivid and complex, capturing the raw energy of the mexican producers praised live performances at mutek, boiler room and elsewhere. it is a direct result of tireless, disciplined experimentation with analogue hardware. the 16 tracks on *shiva watts*, which is available for the first time ever on vinyl through the berlin-based antime label, take their cues from a variety of musical styles, most notably acid, combining elements of hard-hitting techno, textural idm, dry-but-funky electro and trance-inducing house with lush ambient-leaning interludes. *shiva watts* is an album which celebrates stylistic and emotional ambiguity, which provides the perfect soundtrack for a world yet to come - and everything that will follow after that. the vinyl lp includes a download code.

home invasion is the new label from real tone man franck roger, a man whose career has scaled the full depths of house music over the past decade or so. evidently seeking a new challenge, the parisian s new imprint promises to adhere to a vehemently underground way of working, with every ep released upfront on vinyl-only terms and produced exclusively on analogue equipment.

straight outta vienna comes a fresh take on the deeper side of techno from two well known producers who team up here under the project name buffered multiple. buffer 01 is the first part in a series of two eps for the lirum larum imprint from berlin.

now living in warsaw, donnell knox was well known, along with black nation s jay denham for forging a tough, distinct kalamazoo techno sound in the 90s. his label, sonic mind, put out some very coveted, underground wax that still sounds unique, extra rugged, and fresh. well d-knox is now on a bit of a comeback mission it seems, with some really inspiring new material, and “africa calling”. the first version, created to donnell’s much loved “spirit man” alias, is a soulful trek through layers of pads and emotive synth work. the simple, but uplifting, vocal snippet really gives it an organic and spiritual feel, the tempo is driving and quick, but the overall vibe is laid back and deep. remixes come from the likes of brooklyn based titonton duvante, who maximizes a synth pattern to a form a beautiful, reaching, version, while canada’a rennie foster channels his futago traxx style to present a full on tribal, drum based mix with added vocal pieces. also, detroit transplant, now living in canada as well, j garrett goes in with a very emotional, warm, string laden take. the ep is capped off with another version from donnell that could stand as it’s own track really, a totally different, but equally as strong, version featuring a driving baseline and detroit style string vamps. a really nice release, worthy of your support, from a well loved veteran of the techno underground.

after the last lessizmore release found san proper and maayan nidam crossing swords for the simmering, jammed-out tones of it was a night like this, now the label turns to another close ally for a slice of discerning, upfront house music. louis mcguire lives many different lives in music, from drumming with indie pop outfit ballet school to playing bass for lo-fi electronica group the waves & us. now though his own solo productions are being noticed in the house and techno world, with this new ep following on from a well-received debut on supply records. the diversity of mcguire’s musical leanings feeds into his distinctive sound, as his own take on stripped down, sensual house music bristles with unconventional energy to make for an unforgettable experience that steps up to the most creative frontiers of dance music. live drum sounds rattle around the mix free from quantized safety, while the melodic tones come on warm and fuzzy, capturing the hazy romance of a late morning session as much as the early part of the evening. it’s apparent that mcguire’s weapon of choice is the mpc, channeling his love of gritty beats in the grand tradition of point g and j. dilla. you can hear the spirit of the most adventurous micro house pioneers in the quirky funk of light hearted, while Óreitha revels in the transcendental qualities of a sustained groove without even a whisper of monotony. even with these unusual qualities the music is resolutely built for the dancefloor, and that mcguire manages to be so creative and so focused in the same beat is reason enough to keep tabs on this multifarious and unpredictable operator.

rnt is turning 10 releases old with this special and varied ep from michael the lion. known recently for his work on soul clap records, michael flexes his edit skills on this one, flipping some funk on the a-side with any time, and serving up classic italo cheek with the don.the b-side erupts with the disco-house-bringer-downer get more and finishes smooth with a fresh take on a wellworn sample with 909s and herb, a coproduction with sammy bananas, of fool s gold record fame. this milestone record is a choice celebration of the quality that the rnt label has come to personify.

dont expect to see *played by* or *support from*, or anything like that in our new release, this is quality underground music not meant to make you jump on the dance floor, but to take you on a trip to another dimension. we are back and this is just getting started...

garofano rosso is the latest project by italian producer giorgio luceri, perhaps better known for his work on jamal moss mathematics label. this new work eschews the house stylings of previous releases in favour of a more classic cosmic approach. echoes of tangerine dreams thief ost mixed with what could perhaps be the imaginary soundtrack to miami vice if it had infact been set in rimini and starred maurizio merli as sonny crockett. these are not however just mere mood pieces, but take the sun, the sea and the body-count straight to the dancefloor. not to be missed. mastered by alek stark. artwork by eric lee. always limited. download code included.

after more than a year in the making we are almost ready to release the final chapter in psychemagiks magik series. due to incredible responses from the artists we contacted we ended up with more tracks than we needed for one album so it was decided to release magik sunset in two parts. both albums contain yet more of the long lost and obscure tracks that the previous compilations have presented and part one is now available on double vinyl in gatefold sleeve.

its release time for house is ok! frankfurt based label waited a bit longer than usual for its co-owner marko pelaic aka homeboy to come up with new sounds so it doesnt really surprise theyve decided to let him take over this, one man reign ep, first of that sort for this etiquette. kaprije is not only news for the label but homeboy himself in a way he defined it as writing a new chapter, stepping away from traditional house music, exploring more of the experimental and modern sounds a direction hes interested in continuing.
